Da-Acpc Appoints Bayanihan Bank As Credit Fund Administrator In Calabarzon

To further expand access to agricultural credit in CALABARZON, the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Credit Policy Council (DA-ACPC) formally appointed Bayanihan Bank Inc. as its new credit fund administrator through a ceremonial MOA signing held on September 24, 2026, in Mataasnakahoy, Batangas. The agreement was signed by DA-ACPC Executive Director Rallen O. Verdadero and Bayanihan Bank Inc. Executive Vice President Alma G. Saavedra. Serving as official witnesses to the signing were DA-ACPC OIC-Deputy Executive Director Noel Clarence M. Ducusin, represented by DA-ACPC Fund Recovery Division Chief Celedonio P. Pereyra, and Bayanihan Bank Inc. Treasurer Arlene Celestino. As credit fund administrator, Bayanihan Bank will oversee the accreditation of qualified cooperatives as credit retailers of credit funds for the agriculture sector in the provinces of Quezon and Laguna. It will also monitor all transactions in the disbursement and collection accounts of accredited credit retailers to ensure compliance with the guidelines governing the use of program funds. Since 2022, Bayanihan Bank has been a partner of ACPC in providing loan funds to Samahan ng Magsasaka at Magpipinya ng Brgy. Nieva in the Municipality of General Luna in Quezon Province and continues to support the improvement of their livelihoods and agricultural activities.
